AIRSHOW ORIGINAL 1930's ADVERTISING POSTER FROM A FAMOUS STUNT PILOT'S ESTATE

Description

Here's an original 1930's white cardstock advertising "stock" poster that came from the Poughkeepsie, New York estate of former U.S. Marine Corps aviation pioneer, stunt pilot, and barnstormer Johnny "Upside Down" Miller.
This black and white-colored poster measures approximately 14 inches x 11 inches.
In the center is a great photo image of Johnny Miller standing in front of his biplane at an airshow.
Printed below this photo are the words "UPSIDE DOWN" JOHNNY MILLER (LT. U.S.M.C.R.) WHO HAS CARRIED 25,000 PASSENGERS AT 125 CITIES IN 20 STATES WILL PERFORM.
The poster advertises the opportunity for people to fly in a big 4-passenger ,000 airplane with a whirlwind motor (the kind used by Col. Lindbergh).
On the bottom, the poster advertises Johnny Miller's free exhibitions of stunt flying, thrilling dead motor landings, and upsidedown flight.
PLEASE NOTE:   This airshow poster has blank spaces on the top and in the center.   The top space would include the printed name, address, and date of upcoming Johnny Miller airshows.
The center space would include the printed customer costs of flying with Johnny Miller, which were .50 and .50.
This rare estate poster was found in the barn of Johnny Miller.
ABOUT JOHNNY MILLER (1905-2008) ---   He made the first air mail flight in a Kellett KD-1B autogiro from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania post office roof to Camden, New Jersey in 1939.   The autogiro was the first wingless aircraft to obtain official certification from the Civil Aeronautics Authority.   It looked like an airplane but flew like a helicopter.   It was dubbed "the flying windmill" because of its oversized rotor blades.   Johnny Miller was a test pilot for the autogiro and the hybrid Grumman J2F "Duck", which was part airplane and part boat.   In 1931 he was the first individual to purchase a Pitcairn PCA-2 autogiro serial number 13, which had been offered to Amelia Earhart but she turned it down.   He flying skills included performing incredible feats like loops and rolls at airshows across the country.   He started his own helicopter air charter service at age 60.
