    Description

Offered is a silk ribbon for the Cando North Dakota Fire Department from 1908. The ribbon was from a firefighting tournament held at Mandan North Dakota June 9,10 and 11,1908. The ribbon is pink with black lettering and has an old piece of equipment inside a wreath. Also a hat and lantern. Cando was founded in 1884 as the seat of the newly formed Towner County. It was named from the pioneers' "can do" spirit. The Great Northern Railway was extended to Cando in 1888. The ribbon is 2 1/8” x 8 ¼”. Very light soiling.
