Description
This is a COOL Antique lot of 2 Aluminized Business Cards (with corner swirls) Advertising Erickson’s Restaurants and Lunch Room locations in Chicago’s “Toothpick Alley” in “The Loop”,the popular name for the Chicago business district located south of the main stem of the Chicago River
.
All of Chicago's nineteenth-century railroad depots were located at the edges of the central business district, creating a circle of stations around the hub of the city.
The restaurants and cafeterias catering to workers and shoppers near Madison and Clark streets at the turn of the 20th century became known as Toothpick Alley.
Most of the locations listed on these cards are in and around Toothpick Alley.
The back of the cards have a cool 1908 calendar whose dates are listed by the day of the week.
The tickets are used condition and show some wear on the aluminum coating.
