    German Fire Brigade Cross of Honor in Silver, 1st Version (before 1975). No Box.
    The Obverse of the Medal reads: FÜR VERDIENSTE IN FEUERLÖSCHWESEN (FOR MERIT IN FIRE EXTINGUISHING.) In 1975 the Inscription was changed to: FOR MERIT IN FIRE FIGHTING. The Inscription in the Reverse reads: DEUTSCHER FEUERWEHR VERBAND (GERMAN FIRE BRIGADE ASSOCIATION.)
    The German Fire Brigade Cross of Honor in Silver can be awarded annually to 1,000 active members of the fire brigade. By June 30, 1975, when the second version of the Cross was adopted, the German Fire Brigade Cross of Honor in silver had been awarded to 7,830 residents and 415 foreigners.
