Another exciting find for South African Tokens. An unrecorded F.S.D.E & Co Ld (
Frank Smith Diamond Estates & Exploration Co
) 1/- has been unearthed. No previous record of a 1/- has been noted. The only known denomination is a 2/6 of which only 3 are known according to Brian Hern's token book. The token is listed on page 101. F.S.D.E hails from the Cape Province, Barkley West.
The token is Brass, and is uniface.
Now if one has to look back over the past year and a half, there has been quite a number of new or unrecored tokens surfacing.

FRANK SMITH DIAMOND ESTATES. Presiding at the meeting of the Frank Smith Diamond Estates, Mr. Gustav Imroth ^aid that during the year the work3 a,t the mine had bwn at a standstill, and no new development had taken place. Last year he spoke about a proposed msion of the working arrangements with their neighbours, the Welgelegen Company. The_ negotiation* had lately been Drought to a eoncmsion, and a reiolu-tion would be put before the shareholders^to agr-“ to it. One result of the fusion would be that the_ would be £100,000 of working capital, which the engineers'/sonsidered to be ample to develop^tho mine. Pending' this arrangement they had been husbanding their rcsouices.    . The report was adopted. As regarded the fusnon resolution, there was not a quorum present, end the meeting was adjourned to July 29.
