Himalayan Industries Youth “First to the Top” Commemorative Frame Pack. This pack commemorates the 9
th
mountaineering expedition to attempt to summit Mount Everest and the first to succeed on May 29, 1953,when Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary reached the summit. It is well built and in great condition. There are no tears or rips, all seams are intact and zippers work well. The frame of the pack is 26” long from the crossbar at the top to the bottom of the side supports and 11 ¾” wide at the widest part. There is a main compartment that measures 15 ½” wide by 19 ½ inches deep that can be accessed by the top opening or a neat side zipper, which allows easy access to items in the bottom of the compartment. This feature was not available on most packs at the time this pack was manufactured. Himalayan Industries products were well known for their advanced features and sound construction. There is also a zippered pocket that measures 8 ½” wide by 6” deep.  If you know a young person who loves the outdoors this is a great small frame pack for big adventures and big dreams of one day climbing the biggest mountains in the world!
