New Jersey State Firemens Assoc 47th Ann Convention Delegate Badge 1924

Description

The item for sale is a delegate medal or badge from the 47th Annual Convention of the New Jersey State Firemens Association that occurred in Atlantic City, NJ during 1924.  The medal includes a gilded bronze medallion with white and blue enamel.  The design includes two detailed female figures with fire fighting implements in the surrounding enamel.  There is a red fabric ribbon hanging from the medallion with information about the convention.  The badge was manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag. The medal was previously owned.  The medallion has an original patina and no signs of wear.  The enamel is completely intact.  The ribbon is somewhat frayed at the bottom while it is intact for the most part save for a minor edge tear.  This is probably due to the backing that includes information about Whitehead & Hoag, the manufacturer.  The total length of the medal is 72 mm.  The diameter of the medallion is 32 mm.
