    The item for sale is a Memorial Committee medal or badge from the 53rd Annual Convention of the New Jersey State Firemen's Association that occurred in Atlantic City, NJ during 1930.  The medal includes a gilded bronze medallion with white and blue enamel.  The design includes two detailed female figures with fire fighting implements in the surrounding enamel.  There is a red fabric ribbon associated with the medallion with information about the convention.  The badge was manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag. The medal was previously owned.  The medallion has an original patina and no signs of wear.  The enamel is completely intact.  The ribbon is quite fragile and has separated into three major fragments and detached from the medallion.  It appears to be complete and can probably be restored with a backing.  The ribbon was originally backed with a paper label from Whitehead & Hoag, the manufacturer.  The total length of the medal is 72 mm.  The diameter of the medallion is 32 mm.
