    Description

    The item for sale is a medal or badge from the  New Jersey State Firemen's Association that typically held their annual convention in Atlantic City, NJ during most of the twentieth century.  The medal includes a gilded bronze medallion with white and blue enamel.  The design includes two detailed female figures with fire fighting implements in the surrounding enamel.  The medal usually includes a fragile ribbon with information about the convention.  This is missing.  The medallion is manufactured by Whitehead & Hoag.  The Association was using this manufacturer until about 1933, so them medal was made before this date but not 1924 nor 1930. The medallion has an original patina and no signs of wear.  The enamel is completely intact.  The diameter of the medallion is 34 mm.
