Vintage 1984- 1985 O’Gradys, Lays , Ruffles Backpack Picnic Kit. This item was in a plastic over wrap and taken out just for the pictures for this listing. The kit comes with four hard plastic 4” tumbler cups (2 red and 2 blue ) and four 10” hard plastic plates (2 red and 2 blue). The bottom part of the bag has a zipper that opens up to an insulated area. It should easily hold 6-8 of your favorite canned drinks. The top part that holds the cups and plates has a draw string..There are also two shoulder straps for easy carrying.
O’ Gradys was introduced in 1984 by Frito Lay . They were much thicker than any other wavy potato chip and were available in regular flavor and my favorite, Au Gratin. They were in the market for several years then discontinued in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s. Through the years since this brand was discontinued, Frito Lay has introduced Thick Ruffles but has never been able to duplicate the taste of O’Gradys. This picnic kit has been put up safely for all these years. This is Avery nice collector’s item for those who like to collect items from brands of the past. I have seen few listed like this. Condition is "New".
