Vintage Netherlands Flag Nautical Merchant boat ship RARE
Measures 46” x 68” (see pictures), 4 ft x 6 ft
This flag was inherited from a ship captain who worked for Lykes. Cargo ships, etc had to fly the national flag of the country that they were in (in addition to the American flag)
Heavy material, heavy stitching
Not sure of the age. Doesn’t appear to have been flown, as there are no frays, wear or tears. There may be a some light markings due to the age and storage.
On the blue panel there is “Netherlands 4X6” hand written, looks lite chalk. I’m assuming this is from the manufacturer during the sewing process??
Sewn on tag says it was made by Foster Co, Inc. Manufacturers New Orleans, LA.
